Takedajou 竹田城
Takedajou 竹田城 is a small castle on top of a small hill (353.7m above sea level), known as Japan's Machu Picchu.
The castle was abandoned for around 400 years. Most parts of the castle have collapsed.
In certain time of the year, and in certain weather condition, the castle would seems to be on top of a sea of cloud, hence the castle is also known as Castle in the Sky 天空の城.
Several movies and TV dramas use Takedajou 竹田城 as location.

The nearest train station is Takeda station 竹田駅 of JR Bantan Line 播但線.
