Hence, the cheapest Shinkansen 新幹線 train car sector in the whole country is JR Hakata-Minami Line 博多南線, which only cost 300 yen. If one does not have rail pass, want to experience Shinkansen 新幹線 train ride, and unwilling to fork out a large sum, then this line is the only choice (there is a winter skiing season only alternative : between Echigo Yuzawa station 越後湯沢駅 and Gala Yuzawa station ガーラ湯沢駅 in JR Jouetsu line 上越線). The only catches are : the trains are infrequent, and Hakata-Minami Station 博多南駅 is in the middle of nowhere.
