Captain Tsubasa キャプテン翼 is a famous manga series about primary schoolers playing football written by Takahashi Youichi 高橋陽一 starting 1981. Multiple anime series had also been created based on the manga.
The main characters are Oozora Tsubasa 大空翼, Misaki Tarou 岬太郎, Wakabayashi Genzou 若林源三, Hyuuga Kojirou 日向小次郎, Roberto Hongou ロベルト本郷, Nakazawa Sanae 中沢早苗, and Ishizaki Ryou 石崎了.
Takahashi Youichi 高橋陽一 was raised in Tokyo-to Katsushika-ku Yotsuki 東京都葛飾区四つ木. A bronze status of Oozora Tsubasa 大空翼 was erected in a park in Yotsuki 四つ木 in March 2013. 7 more bronze statues were erected in the area in March 2014.
