The Remains of Himeji City Monorail 姫路市営モノレール跡
Himeji City Monorail was opened in 1966, but was closed in 1974. However, the Himeji City did not have enough funds to remove all the monorail tracks, and needs to raise funds each year to remove the tracks bit by bit. In 2014, the tracks are still not removed completely yet.
One of the station, Daishougun Station 大將軍駅, was located inside an apartment building Takao Apartment 高尾アパート. The apartment building was also being closed down after the monorail system was closed, waiting to be demolished.

The nearest train station is Himeji station 姫路駅 of JR Sanyou Honsen / Sanyou Shinkansen / Bantansen / Kishinsen JR山陽本線/山陽新幹線/播但線/姫新線 and Sanyou Himeji station 山陽姫路駅 of Sanyou Electric Railway Main Line 山陽電気鉄道本線.
The building at the left is Takao Apartment 高尾アパート, which is where the Daishougun Station 大將軍駅 is located Takao Apartment 高尾アパート, where the remains of the track can be seen One of the column supporting the track, but the track has been removed
The same column view from the other direction Another column, this time the track is not completely removed The track going into the building
The other end of the building The other end of the building, where the remains of the track can be seen Another part of the track not removed near the convenient store

A rice vending machine near the apartment building. This is the third such vending machines I saw in Japan. One of them is also in Hyougo-ken 兵庫県 while the other one is in Nagano-ken 長野県 Himeji Castle 姫路城, just about 1km north east of the apartment building
